About Jean-Claude Monney
Author, Publisher, Speaker, and Founder of Du Terroir Au Nectar™
From Enterprise Knowledge to Living Knowledge
Jean-Claude Monney is an author, publisher, speaker, and knowledge strategist whose work explores how living knowledge is captured, transmitted, and preserved. Over five decades, he has worked at the intersection of technology, knowledge management, AI, and enterprise transformation, holding leadership roles at Microsoft, STMicroelectronics , DEC, and Motorola.
As former Chief Knowledge Officer and U.S. Chief Technology Strategist at Microsoft, Jean-Claude helped organizations rethink knowledge: not only as information stored in systems, but as experience, judgment, context, and practice embedded in people. His broader work has included teaching as a faculty member at Columbia University, advising through the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network in Digital Transformation, and speaking at institutions and events including NASA, the World Bank, KMWorld, and more than 100 Fortune 500 companies.
Through Du Terroir Au Nectar (DTAN), Jean-Claude now brings that experience into books, stories, and selected speaking engagements. His first book, L’Odyssée d’un maître de chai, begins in the world of wine, where terroir becomes nectar through expertise, judgment, patience, and time.
More than a wine book, it is a story of living knowledge: the gestures, choices, doubts, memory, and judgment behind a lifetime of work, preserved through conversation and narrative before they disappear.
For Jean-Claude, DTAN is both a publishing imprint and a knowledge journey: from lived experience to narrative, from expertise to shared understanding, from terroir to value.
